Evasion Rebalance Update – September 2024

Greetings, Adventurers!

We’ve been closely monitoring gameplay dynamics and, after careful consideration, we have decided to implement a major update focused on rebalancing Evasion. As Evasion is currently a percentage-based force in the game, we’ve noticed that players could achieve near and even 100% Evasion with ease, making some of the game's challenging dungeons too easy to solo. This imbalance has led to certain content being abused and, as a result, has diminished the intended difficulty of the game.

With this update, we aim to provide a more balanced and rewarding experience, preserving the challenge of higher-level dungeons while still allowing Evasion to remain a valuable mechanic. Below are the detailed changes coming in this patch:

Skill Adjustments:
We’ve reduced the evasion values on certain high-impact skills to ensure Evasion stays within reasonable limits, especially at max levels.

- Merit Mastery:
- Evasion reduced from 21% → 6% (max level)

- Quick Move:
- Evasion reduced from 58% → 45% (max level)

- Lightning Enchant:
- Evasion reduced from 55% → 40% (max level)

Pet Slot Adjustments:
Pets were providing too much passive Evasion, leading to excessive overall Evasion percentages when fully slotted.

- Pet Slot Evasion:
- Evasion reduced from 2% per slot → 1% per slot
- Maximum Evasion from fully slotted pets reduced from 20% → 10%

Epaulet of Guardian Changes (Base Stats):
The base stats on various grades of Epaulets of Guardian have been reduced to avoid stacking high levels of Evasion through gear.
  • SIGMetal: 4% → 1%
  • Mithril: 5% → 2%
  • Archridium: 6% → 2%
  • Drei Frame: 7% → 3%
  • Palladium: 8% → 3%
  • Demonite: 9% → 4%
  • Dragonium: 10% → 5%

Earring of Guard Changes (Base Stats):
We've rebalanced the Evasion percentages granted by Earrings of Guard to maintain consistency with other Evasion reductions.
  • Earring of Guard +5: 2% → 1%
  • Earring of Guard +6: 3% → 1%
  • Earring of Guard +7: 4% → 2%
  • Earring of Guard +8: 5% → 2%
  • Earring of Guard +9: 6% → 3%

Amulet of Resist Changes (Base Stats):
Evasion granted by Amulets of Resist has also been scaled down to align with the overall reduction in Evasion percentages.
  • Amulet of Resist +1: 1% → 1% (unchanged)
  • Amulet of Resist +2: 2% → 1%
  • Amulet of Resist +3: 3% → 1%
  • Amulet of Resist +4: 4% → 2%
  • Amulet of Resist +5: 5% → 2%
  • Amulet of Resist +6: 6% → 3%

Weapon and Body Part Craft Changes:
Evasion percentages on crafted weapons and armor have been reduced across the board to prevent crafting from becoming an overwhelming source of Evasion.
  • SIGMetal ~ Palladium: 2% ~ 9% → 1% ~ 4%
  • Demonite ~ Dragonium: 3% ~ 10% → 1% ~ 5%

Accessory Craft Changes:
Both normal and unique accessories have had their Evasion craft values reduced to prevent excessive stacking of Evasion through accessories.
  • Normal Accessories: 1% ~ 6% → 1% ~ 4%
  • Unique Accessories: 1% ~ 6% → 1% ~ 4%

Extended Slot Accessory Changes (Account Bound):
To maintain balance, extended slot accessories have had their Evasion values adjusted as follows:
  • 2 Slots: 4% → 3%
  • 3 Slots: 6% → 4%

Buff Limit:
We’ve introduced a cap on Evasion from buffs to ensure that players cannot stack Evasion beyond a reasonable threshold.
  • Buff Limit for Evasion: Previously no limit → Capped at 90%

Evasion Potion Adjustments:
Evasion potions were a significant source of Evasion abuse, so we’ve adjusted their values and restricted their usage to ensure they cannot be exploited.
  • Lv.1 Potion: 30% → 10% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
  • Lv.2 Potion: 50% → 20% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
  • Lv.3 Potion: 70% → 30% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
  • Lv.4 Potion: 90% → 40% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
  • Lv.4 War Potion: 90% → 40% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
  • Lv.1 Potion: 30% → 5% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
  • Lv.2 Potion: 50% → 10% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
  • Lv.3 Potion: 70% → 15% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
  • Lv.4 Potion: 90% → 20% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
  • Lv.4 War Potion: 90% → 20% (cannot be added to the quick slot bar)
    Note: Lv.4 Potions share the same cooldown.
Title Adjustments:
  • To the Unknown Island 5% → 1%
  • Secret Surrounding the Island 10% → 2%
  • Hidden Story of the Island 15% → 3%
  • Lost World Pioneer 20% → 4%
Honor Medal Adjustments:
  • Captain Rank 4% → 1% per slot
  • Hero Rank 2% → 1% per slot
  • Legend Rank 2% → 1% per slot
Developer’s Note:
We understand that Evasion is a core mechanic that many players enjoy using, and we have not taken this rebalance lightly. These changes are necessary to ensure that the game maintains its challenging and rewarding nature while avoiding exploits that undermine gameplay for others. We will continue to monitor the impact of these changes and make further adjustments if necessary to ensure a fair and balanced experience for all players.

then DGs difficulties must be readjusted too. a lot of equipments also skills have been nerfed, while it may not be a problem for old players but it will be a huge problem for new ones. and i gotta say that decision will make a lot of players feel dissatisfied both old and new. Why not make a poll to ask what other players think about stuffs?
 
Up until now, we (the developers) overlooked the fact that players could achieve 100% evasion and maintain it for an extended period, which meant they weren’t experiencing the true strength of monsters and bosses in maps and dungeons, as they could avoid nearly all attacks. If you were previously able to solo a dungeon and now struggle because of a boss, that's intentional. Every dungeon is designed to be completed with the right gear, and in some cases, a well-coordinated team. ;)

evasion point aside, being able to solo the DG that we couldnt in the official is the point of private server. if you want to nerf the player, i think its only fair to nerf the DG too. Cuz if you dont then all players will depend on protection of veradix regardless their role. Honestly speaking, i kinda dissapointed of how weak FS is. FS is supposed to be able to tank damage from bosses, but in this server it doesnt matter how high your defense is, at the end of the day you still count on POV to be able to beat upper DGs. Its kinda defeat the purpose of FS and other tanker role. Now i understand why FS is so rare in this server cuz defense doesnt mean anything as long as you have POV. Again, i really encourage you (develeoper) to review the DGs difficulties so it can be balanced with player both new and old. I really suggest to make a poll for anything you want to improve, taking notes from other private servers is not a bad idea either(originality is overrated, fun is what matters i think :cool: )
