new player problems

why everytimes i hit yellow monsters only get 3-5Damage some monsters 1xx Damage someone help me

Was a little helpless too, and got helped ingame by eLGecko.

You need the next best armour and weapon/orb/crystal set like shadow steel, bluesteen and so on, to make more damage to stronger monster.
And you need a higher skill rank and the skills.
